| Description | Wellington photographer James Bragge took this photograph on one of his trips into the Wairarapa, 1876-1877. The founding settlers of Eketahuna immigrated to New Zealand from Scandinavia to clear the Seventy-Mile Bush, a daunting tract of dense forest, about forty miles wide and seventy miles long.
