| Description | One of a pair of dancer's leg ornaments worn below the knee, from Hawaii. A large number of canine teeth of dogs, each pierced at the root tip, are fastened in rows to a netted fibre base. The sides have braided loops for fastening. There are five substitute teeth, apparently of black wood, in the top two rows. Dog teeth, fibre. Oldman Collection, purchased 1948. |
